The 3rd International Education Conference at Münster University focusing on the "Individual Education of Multiple Talents" starts on 9 September, 2009 at 5 pm with a keynote talk by Prof. Howard Gardner focusing on the topic "Talents: The Perspective of Multiple Intelligences" and with some introducing words, e.g. by Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, Minister of Innovation, Sciences, Research and Technology of the German State North Rhine-Westphalia. Afterwards there will be a Welcome Reception.
September 10th, the second Conference day, will be focusing on interdisciplinary topics. The keynotes on this day will be held by Prof. Ellen Winner on "Giftedness in Academic and Non-Academic Domains" and by Prof. Dr. Albert Ziegler on "Individuelle Gestaltung von Lernsoziotopen für Begabte" (Individual Composition of Learning Sociotopes for the Gifted). Among the other speakers of this day will be Prof. Gardner and Prof. Winner again, and also Prof. Dr. Julius Kuhl, Prof. Dr. Dagmar Bergs-Winkels, Dr. Hella Schick, Prof. Dr. Kurt Heller, Prof. Dr. Claudia Solzbacher, and Dr. Annette Heinbokel.
On the third Conference day, September 11th, we will be presenting talks on subject-specific matters. Our Keynote speakers will be Prof. Dr. Werner Deutsch about "Wäre Einstein Einstein geworden, wenn er nicht Geige gespielt hätte?" (Would Einstein have become Einstein if he had not Played the Violin?") and Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Lück on a mathematical topic which is yet to be defined. Among the other speakers on this day will be Prof. Dr. Heiner Gembris, Dr. Eckhard R. Lucius, Dr. Dieter Hausamann, Caterina Savi, Prof. Dr. Erwin-Josef Speckmann, Prof. Dr. Friedhelm Käpnick, Prof. Dr. Nils Neuber, and Prof. Dr. Christian Fischer.
The fourth Conference day, September 12th, will be focusing on international matters. Prof. Matti Meri will hold the keynote talk on "Individuelle Förderung in Finnland" (Individual Education in Finland). Other speakers will be Prof. Dr. Willi Stadelmann, Prof. Peter Csermely, Mag. Dr. Sieglinde Weyringer, and Prof. Dr. Marion Rogalla. Reinhard Aldejohann, Head of the Schools and Special Schools Department at the Office of Schools and Further Education of the German State North Rhine-Westphalia, will hold a closing speech. The Conference will end around 2 pm.
